Why We Exist
The City of Portsmouth, VA has the highest rate of homelessness and the fewest resources in Hampton Roads. Portsmouth poverty rate in 2017 was 18.5%; 42% were children under the age of 18. Nationally, homelessness amongst women and children has increased. Homeless children are twice as likely to experience hunger, health problems and repeat a grade in school.
Support Through Community
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Pop-Up Vendor event originally scheduled for Saturday, July 25, due to low vendor participation.
While we are disappointed, we remain committed to hosting events that are well-supported and provide a meaningful experience for our vendors, volunteers, and community. We appreciate everyone who expressed interest in participating and supporting Firm Foundation of Virginia.
Stay tuned for future community events—we look forward to seeing you soon!
Special Thanks to our Sponsors & Supporters!
